Kansas Athletic Director, Lew Perkins Retired

ad-big-12The Kansas Athletic Director, Lew Perkins retired on Tuesday with an immediate effect. Perkins had retired one year earlier before his retirement. The Athletic Director position will be replaced temporarily by, Sean Lester until the new director was selected.

Earlier in June, Perkins stated that, he will retire in September. Perkins did not state any reason to the media about his retirement.

The Chancellor, Bernadette Gray-Little stated that, “There is no question that Kansas athletics has benefited from Lew Perkins’ leadership and I appreciate his service and understand his decision.”

The Kansas school said that, Perkins will receive an amount of $2 million if he stays until September 2011 and the Associate director; Jim Marchiony is the closest staff member to Perkins.


Ben Cousins Announced Retirement

Ben CousinsYesterday, the football player, Ben Cousins announced his retirement to the media after playing two more matches in Richmond.

Ben Cousins, 32, is an Australian football player. Ben played in total 238 games and made 205 goals for west coast eagles in the year 1996 to 2007. After that, he joined Richmond football club in the year 2009 and is continuing till now. In 2007, Ben Cousins was banned from AFL due to several off-field incidents but he never failed to play the game due to drug test.

Ben Cousins won the Brownlow award and premiership medal while playing for the west coast eagles team. Ben stood as a captain for 5 seasons for west coast football team. In his entire 14 years AFL career, Ben Cousins has played 268 games and made 217 goals.

Ben Cousins stood among the best players list in the Richmond football team.

Roger Goodell Suspends Ben Roethlisberger

Ben RoethlisbergerThe NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell suspended Ben Roethlisberger for six games for the 2010 NFL season. Roger said that Ben Roethlisberger will not play in the Pittsburgh Steelers team till week 6.

However, the decision needs to be taken by NFL, whether Ben Roethlisberger is allowed to play with Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFL Spokesman, Goodell said that “There is no penalty charged for Ben Roethlisberger but he was restricted for violating the NFL policy”. But, the penalty may be reduced to four games for Roethlisberger.

Roger Goodell reportedly said to the media that Ben Roethlisberger is a very good player and he is performing very well in the team. Despite of this, he needs to understand the reason behind suspension for the NFL season.

Ben Roethlisberger has attended the behavioral evaluation program and responded to NFL commission. The Pittsburgh Steelers has already started practicing the game and ready for the 2010 NFL season.
