Kim And Reggie: Fighting After The Super Bowl

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

All is not bliss in Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush’s wonderland, even though he just won the Super Bowl. In Touch is reporting that immediately after the game, Kim was hogging the cameras to the point that Reggie snapped at her. According to the magazine, he said, “I just won the Super Bowl. This is my night, not yours,” and at the after-party, Reggie celebrated with his teammates while Kim sulked.

And there’s more: Reggie’s ex, Carmen Ortega (who we think has been in some music videos, and she also appears to write a column for Honey magazine), went public with reports of an affair she and Reggie carried on last year. Carmen says that while she and Reggie were seeing each other last year, they “both were in serious relationships with other people, but we had an ‘understanding.’” The understanding apparently didn’t extend to Kim—Carmen says that when Kim found out that Reggie was seeing someone else, she went to the Internet to trash Carmen.

Sigh. Okay, let’s deal with the first one first. If Kim was being a camera-hog immediately after Reggie won the freaking Super Bowl, then she deserves a little more than the cold shoulder at the after-party. Come on, that is a cardinal sin in a relationship. When your partner does something completely awesome, you stand back and let them have the spotlight. Right, Chad Lowe? Then you go home and have congratulations-on-winning-the-Super-Bowl sex. And tomorrow is another day for you to get attention! 6 Ways To Be Extra-Supportive

Second, this whole Carmen Ortega thing. It’s unclear if the Reggie-Carmen affair happened while he and Kim were off again, but we doubt it, because why would she freak out if he was seeing someone else while they were broken up? If that’s the case, then Reggie either needed to be upfront about not being monogamous, or he was cheating. And Kim was pretty justified in being angry, although like a lot of cheated-on women, she put her anger in the wrong place. When someone cheats on you, you get angry at them, not at the person he or she cheated with. The cheater is breaking a commitment; the other person is just an accessory.

We caught a bit of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on the TV at the gym today, so we have a couple of opinions to offer here. First, that Scott Disick person is gross. He has John Edwards hair, so you just know that isn’t going to end well. Second, it has to be driving Kim up a damn wall that one of her sisters has a baby, another sister is married and got to meet the President, and her other sisters are way skinnier than she is. We’re kind of excited to see her blow a gasket, throw an ultimatum at Reggie, and/or appear on the third season of For the Love of Ray J, like how Antonio Sabato Jr.’s ex showed up on his trashy dating show.

The Who Perform Hits Medley at Super Bowl XLIV Halftime

Monday, February 8th, 2010

The Who took the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show in Miami on Sunday, and delivered a solid if expected medley of classic rock hits.

Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend, the two surviving members of the original quartet, appeared on a circular stage in the center of Sun Life Stadium, accompanied by their backing band.

They played a nearly 12-minute set that included all or parts of five tunes: “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Who Are You?,” “See Me, Feel Me” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Townshend revealed the set list to Billboard during rehearsals two weeks ago.

The annual Super Bowl half time concert has become one of rock’s highest profile gigs, with U2, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney each taking the stage in recent years. The medley format is not unusual for artists with such a deep catalog — Springsteen and Prince took a similar approach.

As in years past, the band was matched with an impressive light show, including a wide array of lasers and several blasts of pyrotechnics. The Who performed on a huge circular stage that played on the band’s recognizable bulls-eye logo, although this year, no fans were allowed on the field.

If the past is any indicator, The Who’s halftime hits medley will give the band a big sales boost. Last year, Bruce Springsteen used his appearance to mark the release of “Working On A Dream,” which hit stores the week before the big game. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on the week culminating with Super Bowl Sunday, and stayed at No. 2 the following week.

New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts: 2010 AFC Championship Odds

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

It will be a David vs. Goliath-like battle when the Final 2 from the American Football Conference battle for the Lamar Hunt Trophy on Sunday.

The Indianapolis Colts, who are “supposed to be in the AFC title game,” will host the New York Jets, who “weren’t even supposed to make the playoffs” and on top of that, it will see the tried, tested and true QB Peyton Manning dueling with the rookie signal-caller Mark Sanchez.

Sports Betting  Sportsbook opened Indy as a 7.5 point favorite, which quickly went to -8. The total is set at 40.5. (more…)

New York Jets vs Cincinnati Bengals NFL Playoff Betting Preview

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

After clobbering the Cincinnati Bengals 37-0 in their final game at Giants Stadium, the New York Jets must produce a duplicate effort next week, as they travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in a playoff game. The wild card round of the playoffs begins on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm, when the Bengals host the Jets. NFL Football Betting on NFL Playoff matches started at our Sportsbetting Sportsbook

From the opening drive of Sunday night’s game, which led to a Jets touchdown, it was evident that the Bengals were simply overmatched and in position for a long night. The Cincinnati Bengals displayed the speed and continuity of a team that was entering its first pre-season game in August. Cincinnati floated through the game as if nothing was at stake, but with a win against the Jets the Bengals would have captured the 3rd overall seed in the AFC. Instead, the Bengals are the 4th seed, and will be at home on Saturday as they try to reverse the fortunes of a 37-0 annihilation at the hands of the Jets.

When the New York Jets take the field in Cincinnati on Saturday, they must do so with a short memory, forgetting about the game that the teams had a week prior. Yes the Jets defeated the AFC North champion Bengals 37-0 at home, but New York must be aware that the Bengals will take the field inspired and energized in front of their home fans. If Cincinnati does not come inspired and prepared to play on Saturday, the Bengals can expect the same result, except for this time the embarrassment will be witnessed by their home fans.
